Yo ho ho Pony Ride

Very long mucking about with doing the big version but i really want to be dedicated enough to output a short one when and if i say I will.

So this is a short hecarim piece, done in around an hour. I want better pics to happen but I kinda need to be fast, too.

anyway, I'm basically learning the joys of working with low opacity. so here.

Study

I got stuck doing a massive Hecarim picture and kind of lost my steam. This just little thing to get me back on the track of drawing.

Pool Party

One of my first mentors in art told me once, if you think you can improve something, don't love it so much that you can't throw it in the garbage for the sake of making it better.

So there you go - an improvement.

I spent 8 more hours on making this look better than it was. There's definitely a major improvement. Still stuff that can be done line zooming in and detailing characters methodically.

I just don't feel like following through on that though. I've just more or less had enough of this piece and just want to let it go it's own way.

And yeah I guess I didn't really notice the whole thing alluding to hentai art until the last moment, so there ;)

Genesis - into the deapths

need to improve:
sense of murkyness in water.
sense of progression / variation in ground, this looks like monochrome rather than terrain
air hose / bubbles

Q n A

Q: how to get viewers
A: Provide long lasting interest in places where viewers can come from
A: Give prospects clear idea of how and when to find stream

Q: Where are prospects hanging?
A: league fan art forum.
A: Reddit fan-art forum

Q: Why are these people prospects:
A: Interest in league related Art. Therefore maybe interested in seeing art made?

Q: How to provide lasting impression?
A: constant addition of content into places.

Q: What do I need to generate for constant additions?
A: Small art. Stuff that's made easy so there is a lot of it.

Q: like what?
A: 1 panel running gags.

Q: does stream has to change to create?
A: maybe. need to make the small art a couple of times a week.

Q: Can I make without compromising main stream content?
A: When I draw i often use alternative dialog. Can make gags from stream content. Cut out color on different page add all the dialog i am dumping.

Q: any other things which merit thought?
A: Need to finish piece within stream time frame?
A:
Clear stream timetable?

Q: What about stream time?
A: Need to have streaming times scheduled in advance. "spontaneous streaming" doesn't work if you want to invite people to come.
A: post art directly before stream and schedule next online time, then stream,

Zooming and Art quality

A lot of people work zoomed in. Maybe this can improve quality considerably. With this last panel I can certainly see how designing the size of the final picture, level of complexity that it should have based on final size, working with good resolution even when zoomed, et cetera, do a lot for  the overall quality.

I think a lot of these concepts are above my "pay grade" right now. I can just start with deciding what the final "width" is going to be and making sure I have enough pixels when zoomed in... what exactly are the specs going to be?

To do:
  1. What width final picture is going to be?
  2. When zoomed 400% need enough resolution to not have any pixelation when painting.
    1. try initial x4 size so x4 zoom ends up having x1 size?
  3. Think about complexity of picture before doing second stage sketch / initial line.
Not sure i want to dump the "infinite canvas" method atm.

LoL

First post,
First draft.

Q: What do I want?
A: To complete the drawings I start.

Q: How do I accomplish?
A: I stream.

Q: Why does that help?
A: Having people enjoy my work as I do it motivates me and enables me to work. Having people be with me as I work is fun.

Q: What does the stream need for it to work?
A: I need 4-5 people who will be there to watch me as I work.

Q: How do I get 4-5 people who want to watch a low frame rate drawing stream?
A:
  • I find people who are initially interested.
  • I create initial interest for those people
  • I create long term interest in my stream with interested people.
